The St. Christopher and Nevis Social Security Board continues to observe the 15th Anniversary of Self-Employed coverage during the month of July under the theme “Sustaining the Self-Employed through guaranteed benefits.”

The first activity to mark the occasion on the actual anniversary date, Friday July 1st, was the well-attended Self-Employed Open Day on both St. Kitts and Nevis.  During this activity, the offices were open to the public particularly to welcome Self-Employed persons with the aim of offering information on the coverage and the benefits available.
Other highlights included an Age Pension Calculator, an electronic tool which provides an estimation of one’s Age Pension; screening for diabetes and hypertension; and weight and height analysis. The timely health screening checks were very ably administered by
student nurses from both the Clarence Fitzroy Bryant College and the International University of Nursing.
On Sunday July 3rd, the Social Security Board along with specially invited registered self-employed persons worshipped at the Wesleyan Holiness Churches in Basseterre, St. Kitts and Charleston, Nevis. During the service recognition plaques were issued to those present. The exemplary self-employed persons were recognized for full compliance under the regulations from 1996 to the present time.  The list of honorees compiled from the two islands is as follows:
