Three cruise ships visit St. Kitts Tuesday with nearly7,000 passengers

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, (CUOPM) – Nearly 7,000 cruise ship passengers visited St. Kitts on Tuesday as the parade of cruise ships continue to the Port of Basseterre.


The 2,540-passenger Serenade of the Seas arrived from St. Maarten with 2,167 passengers and crew of 856.
The 2,850-passenger Celebrity Equinox arrived from St. Thomas with 2,812 passengers and a crew of 1205.
Also arriving was the 2,281-passenger Mein Schiff 2 from St. Lucia with 1804 passengers and 785 crew members.
While the Celebrity Equinox and the Serenade of the Seas berth at the pier, the Mein Schiff 2 anchored in the harbour.
It is expected to berth at the pier after the departure of the other ships. The German vessel is scheduled to depart at midnight.
Most of the passengers came ashore and went on sight-seeing tours in Basseterre and island wide via the St. Kitts Scenic Railway, buses or taxis.
Hundreds also headed for the sea and sun bathing on the beaches, snorkeling, sailing, horseback riding and shopping.
The 2,850-passenger Celebrity Eclipse is scheduled to dock on Wednesday. The 1,611-passenger Thomson Dream and the 2,272-passenger Oceana will be in port on Thursday and the 3,050-passenger Carnival Victory on Friday.
The 315-passenger Silver Cloud docked on Monday with 257 passengers.
