The incident took place sometime after 7am or close to the hour in East Park Range, in the vicinity of NHC and Warner Park area.
It is alleged that Browne was heading to work when he was attacked.
Information received indicates that he may have been attacked by more than one gun man.
Browne was pronounced dead on the scene by the district medical officer, Dr.Mervyn Laws.
This seventh recorded murder for the year which comes two days after Trevis Henville was gunned down in McKnight Tuesday morning.
