Cedar Hill wins two; Brown Hill one In Softball League
Written by Curtis MortonCedar Hill played two games in one afternoon, won both games in style and had occasion to celebrate. In the other game, Brown Hill chalked up a convincing victory over the Mix up team.
There was a huge crowd on hand on Sunday 10th June which included the Premier of Nevis, Hon Joseph Parry and the Minister of Sports, Hon Hensley Daniel.
The results of the matches played:
1. Cole Hill 79 for 5 in 10 overs: Charles Hendrickson 47; Jonathan Liburd 11
B. Browne; W. Brookes and Rodman 1 wicket each
Cedar Hill 81 for 6: Malcolm 29; Rodman 24 and Corey Morton 13
Mikey Williams 2 for 9; Charles Hendrickson Gavin Wattley and Jonathan Liburd 1 wicket each
Cedar Hill winning by 4 runs and scoring the winning runs from the final delivery of the 10th over.
2. Mix Up 64 for 7 in 10 overs: Nelson Boland 20; Adelvin Phillip 11 and Carlon Smithen 11
Hugo Grant 2 for 9; A. Tyson 2 for 11; Austin Browne and Bernette Thompson 1 wicket each
Brown Hill 66 for no loss in 6.4 overs: Eddison Parris 36 not out and Bernette Thompson 26 not out. Brown Hill winning by 10 wickets.
3. Church Ground 54 for 4 from 10 overs: Warren Bussue 32
W. Brookes; K .Bartlette; B. Browne and Wappy 1 wicket each
Cedar Hill 55 for 2 from 4.4 overs: Malcolm 26 not out and W. Brookes 20
C. Esdaille 1 for 20. Cedar Hill won by 8 wickets.
Sunday 17th June—Fathers’ day promises to be a very big day in the league, as in the second match of the day, Brown Hill 1 will engage Cox which will feature Hon Hensley Daniel versus Hon Mark Brantley on opposing teams.
