Math debate rages on in Antigua

St John’s, Antigua – As the debate rages on where the low CXC pass rate for mathematics in Antigua & Barbuda and the wider Caribbean is concerned, one veteran mathematics teacher Anthonyson King has criticised the Ministry of Education for setting a maths pass rate goal last year – but not putting measures in place to achieve it.

New measures for SELF programme come September

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, (CUOPM) – The 15-year-old Student Education Learning Fund (SELF) textbook distribution programme has been reviewed.

Deadline approaches for scholarships from three countries

BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, APRIL 16TH 2012 (CUOPM) – An appeal is being made by the Office of the Prime Minister for nationals of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis to apply for scholarships being made available by Australia, the Republic of China (Taiwan), New Zealand and Cuba.

St. Kitts-Nevis-Anguilla National Bank Limited (NATIONAL) 28/2/12 National Bank Marketing Manager Patricia Wilkinson, presented a cheque in the amount of $5,000 to Leonard Stapleton, Operations Manager of the Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park Society.  The cheque  is in support of this year’s Primary Schools Quiz, one of the signature activities of the annual History and Heritage Week. The History and Heritage Week of activities is an initiative of the Brimstone Hill Fortress National Park Society.
