Carnival organizers in Antigua have decided they will replace the Caribbean Melting Pot with a regional soca competition for Carnival 2012.

BASSETERRE, ST.KITTS: The National Carnival Committee has reportedly disclosed that 2011/2012 Sugar Mas Soca Monarch competition Groovy and Power winners, Shakki Starfire and Mighty Takeover, respectively will be participating in Wadadli’s (Antigua) annual summer Carnival festivity which runs from May 5 to August7.

Antigua’s soca monarch, Joel “Hard Knaxx” Lewis, who is currently in Trinidad in preparation for the International Soca competition slated for next month, is fast running out of money and may have to return home sooner than anticipated.
