In our modern life many of us are busy with our work and domestic lives with hardly any time to break away from the ceaseless noise of our material existence. We are bombarded by various amounts of external stimulation from television, computers and myriad gadgets, tools and trappings of the new high-tech age. We continually absorb and process all this stimuli which takes up a lot of energy and as a result our brains become overloaded, dull and drained of energy. Through experience, I have discovered is a good idea to take a rest from all this technology and the ceaseless chatter of life in order to calm and nourish my inner self.

The way I see it, in these ‘harsh, economic times,’ we have to be creative as human beings. Even in job creation exercises, we have to keep coming up with novel ideas.

Since 1970, April 22nd has been designated Earth Day. Also the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) was established in 1970, charged with protecting human health and safeguarding the natural environment – air, water and land. Other countries developed their own regulations.
Concerns surrounding State-owned airlines in the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) countries clearly exist amongst a wide cross section of the Community. Evidence of this arose not only from the fact that fellow writer on Caribbean affairs, David Jessop, tackled this issue in the same week that I did, but also from the comments that have been sent to me.

You know, most of us would state very boldly that we will never kill ourselves—I mean commit suicide, but after I attended a recent health session, I realized that we are doing just that.
