Theatre Notes
From Saturday, April 21, 2012
Old Story Time is a great piece of modern theatre about Caribbean people and some of their post-colonial attitudes and foibles. Written and first produced in 1979 by Jamaica’s brilliant Trevor Rhone, the play is just as relevant today in St. Kitts and Nevis and perhaps even more so than ever. For this reason we must thank C. “Bouncin” Williams and his National Players Theatre Movement for their timely production of the play in St. Kitts on the 20th, 21st and 22nd of April.
Theatre Notes
I have always loved theatre arts passionately. I love reading and writing plays and musical comedies. I love seeing the written word transcribed into live action by actors and actresses on a stage or some other performance area. And of course it goes without saying, I love to see top- notch performances. For many years before I came to Nevis I had been accustomed to going to the theatre to see some of the very best performances in Canadian and American theatres.
