OECS considers measures to stimulate intra-regional travel

ST. Kitts named a top travel destination for 2011
Basseterre, St. Kitts – For the second time in a one month period, St Kitts has been named among the top 10 travel destinations for 2011. Top travel website AOL Travel has announced that St. Kitts & Nevis earned the #4 spot on its January 10th list as compiled by journalist Jordan Simon. This achievement follows closely on the recent December 10th release which ranked St. Kitts on its top 10 list for 2011 by British Airways. St Kitts achieved the number 4 rank on both lists.
US to ease travel restrictions to Cuba, allow more cash
WASHINGTON, USA (MCT) -- The Obama administration moved on Friday to make it easier for US schools, churches and cultural groups to visit Cuba and to boost the US dollars that can be sent there to support the island's growing private economy.
White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said the changes to US-Cuba policy -- which have been rumoured for months -- are aimed at bolstering Cuba's civil society and putting distance between Cubans and their communist-led goverment.
